It Pays to Stay Invested

The Bull Market That Climbed a Wall of Worry: No amount of bad news could stop the stock market’s strongest run in more than 25 years.

Six years. A global pandemic. A land war in Europe. 40-year-high inflation. A U.S. credit
downgrade. And yet — the S&P 500 has posted a compound annual growth rate of more than 15% since the end of 2019, its strongest six-year stretch since the dot-com era, and well above the long-run historical average of 11.3%.

The investors who captured those gains weren’t the ones who timed every crisis. They were the ones who stayed put — through the pandemic crash, the inflation shock, the rate hikes, and the geopolitical noise. The market mostly shrugged, because corporate earnings have been so strong, with more than 90% of S&P 500 companies reporting, Q2 2026 blended EPS growth came in at 50.5% higher (year-over-year).

The lesson is simple: tune out the noise, stay diversified, and let target rebalancing do the work.
